Hiring a Wedding Car – Your Questions Answered

Wedding season is now starting and you may have some queries and questions about hiring a car for your wedding. Below we have compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions that we get about hiring a vehicle for your special day.

How long before the wedding do I need to book my wedding car?

It is recommended you book your car as early as possible; car companies will be taking bookings up to a couple of years in advance so decide once your date and venue are chosen to avoid any disappointment!

How do I choose a wedding car?

A wedding car company will entertain appointed viewings, you will then be able to choose the vehicle that suits your theme and requirements and know how it will be presented on your big day, use the valuable experience of the wedding car provider.

How many cars do we need?

The number of cars will depend on the size of your wedding party and of course budget. Traditionally the bride will travel with her father, but larger limousines can chauffeur the bride and bridesmaids together. If the wedding is of short distance one car can possibly undertake chauffeuring the groom first and then bridesmaids followed by the bride.

Who goes with whom in the wedding cars and when do they arrive at the wedding?

The groom and best man travel together and arrive around forty-five minutes before the service. The mother of the bride and bridesmaids arrive ten minutes prior the service followed by the bride and father.

Should we hire a car if the ceremony and service are at the same place?

For those weddings in which the ceremony and reception are held at the same venue, we recommend the car stays during the service and once the ‘I-do’s’ are declared the newlyweds can return to the car for photographs and our special ‘escape bubbly run’ which allows the couple a chance to slip away and spend a little time alone together whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly before re-joining their wedding party.

Who decorates the car?

Your wedding car provider will decorate the wedding car with ribbons and bows in the discussed colour scheme.

How long do we have the wedding car for?

Your wedding car will only be booked for your wedding so rest assured that you are not pressured on time and the car will only leave once you are safely at your wedding reception and all photographs are completed.

Will I regret not booking a wedding car?
